3D
ANIMATIONS

This Section consists some of the best 3D animations I've made. These include: animated shorts, animation tests, & logo animations. The 3D animations in this section receive positive reactions from viewers.
Astro Bot and the Luxurious Home
(Plus Comparison)
Astro is feeling tired after having a big breakfast. He was about to rest when a bright light from his TV appears that leads him into a Luxurious Villa house and meeting some unique robot characters.
I first started working on this new Astro Bot animation around late 2022 and early 2023.
This video has 2.36 Million views on my SHORTSHAKER YouTube Channel.
This Astro Bot animation is a parody of the 1936 Mickey Mouse short: Thru The Mirror by Disney.
I modelled and rigged all of the characters using Blender.

Astro's Chubby Moment
Astro Bot is Back! But this time things are about to get bouncy! Astro is hanging out with his robot friend watching TV while eating a turkey leg. Astro has eaten quite a bit and his big round belly is exposed. All of a sudden Astro's friend starts poking fun at Astro's belly much to Astro's annoyance. What can Astro do to sort things out?
I've started working on this short around early 2024 and mid 2025.

Astro Bot's Robo-Rumbler (Astro Bot's Belly Growl)
Astro Bot has just rescued more of his robot friends and just defeated a couple more bosses. However, Astro has been adventuring for so long that his belly starts growling for some food. What can Astro do to calm his stomach down?
I first started working on this animation after I experimented with a few animation tests with my 3D character model of Astro Bot. This animation is based on a comic sketch I made and posted on DeviantArt.

Astro Bot 3D Modelling time lapse
This is my fan-made 3D model of Astro Bot from the Astro Bot video games for the PlayStation consoles. As a fan of the Astro Bot games, as well as Astro Bot himself, I wanted to see a high quality rigged 3D model of the character. No one has ever made a proper Astro Bot 3D model to use for free, so I took matters into my own hands. I used Blender to make my 3D model of Astro and I also screen recorded my computer of the model being built so I could edit it as a time lapse video.

Project 3 Maya Animation
This is my animation I worked on three years ago. I started doing this project as my final assignment for the 3D Animation II class in the DMIT program. For a long time I was always thinking about this idea and I finally brought it to life in the form of a funny parody and re-enactment of one of my favorite scenes from the first Shrek movie. I'm talking about the scene where Donkey starts singing to Shrek and then he says STOP SINGING!!!. For a long time I wanted to make a re-enactment of that scene which I successfully did. In this animation it has two different characters and instead of having one of the characters sing the song that Donkey sang, I decided to have him sing "We're Doing a Sequel" from Muppets Most Wanted. I also put together a progression reel at the end of the video to show how this animation was made.
I used Photoshop to make the Storyboards of the animation.
I animated the entire animation with Autodesk Maya and rendered it using Arnold Renderer.
I edited the animation together using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Eve Test Animations
These two test animations I made with Blender. These two animations star my favorite character from Disney/Pixar's WALL-E "Eve". The first test animation on the left shows Eve firing her laser canon but then discovers something highly unusual. The second test animation on the right shows Eve getting past some some security robots and features very sophisticated character animation.

Experiment One WALL-E Animation test & Progression reel
A robot just came out from behind this dumpster, but not just any robot - it's WALL-E! This is my first animation to include camera tracking. I made this back in late 2022 in Compositing and Visual Effects class. I am a HUGE fan of Disney Pixar's WALL-E! It's my personal all time favorite Pixar film. I thought including WALL-E in the footage with the yellow dumpster would be great for my Compositing and Visual Effects camera tracking assignment. I tracked the footage using Matchmover, then I animated WALL-E using Maya, and then I composited and rendered it with After Effects.

WALL-E Maya animation test
This was a short animation test of WALL-E that I though I'd make just for fun.
WALL-E is taking some small shapes like: Cubes, Cylinders, & Cones and tries to make it into a garbage cube like always. However WALL-E is having trouble turning the shapes into a garbage cube.

Stop-Motion
Animations
This section consists of a collection of stop motion animations that I have made over the years. My early days of making stop motion videos started around Christmas 2012 when I got a Nintendo 3DS XL for Christmas. It was bundled with Mario Kart 7, AR Cards, and best of all, it included a camera used for making Stop Motion videos. By early 2013, I started making my first stop motion animations. I wasn't just filming these videos, I was experimenting with the medium. I had to get used to how stop motion is properly filmed and over time my stop motion skills would improve.
What inspired me to make some great stop motion animations were animated movies and tv specials produced by Aardman Animation and also the classic stop motion Christmas specials produced by Rankin/Bass Productions.

Toy Story Treats Re-Enactment
Get ready Toy Story fans! Because SHORTSHAKER is proud to present a new stop motion animation starring your favorite Toys. This new stop motion video is a faithful re-enactment of the Toy Story TV treats. The TV treats were short bits of animations originally made by Pixar that served as commercial breaks for ABC's Saturday Morning block.
I first started filming a little bit of this project in mid 2022 but it wouldn't be completed until August 2023.

Toy Story Deleted Opening Re-Enactment
This was my second Toy Story stop motion video I made. This video is a re-enactment of the original deleted scenes from Toy Story (1995) in which the movie originally opened with a Buzz Lightyear tv show. Pixar would later use this opening in Toy Story 2 (1999) but changed the Buzz Lightyear tv show to a Buzz Lightyear video game. This was the final stop motion video I filmed at my old house before our family moved to a new home. This was also the final stop motion video I filmed on my Nintendo 3DS camera. This video was shot back in 2014 but it wouldn't be uploaded to YouTube until May 27th 2018.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
movie Re-enactment intro
The second animated video I made in 2013 was a remake of the opening of the Disney/Pixar direct-to-video spin off: Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins.
What inspired me to make this video were several re-enactment videos of Toy Story movie scenes that people made and posted on YouTube.
I filmed this video on my Nintendo 3DS using the stop motion feature included on the 3DS camera app.
I used Adobe Premiere Pro to put the video together.
Despite this video being made back in spring 2013 It wasn't uploaded to YouTube until May 12th 2018.

Shortshaker Smash Brothers
The first ever animated project I've ever made back in early 2013 when I was 13 years old. In this action packed short, Mario & Donkey Kong are each about to have a "one on one" battle with the ferocious Bowser & a heroic, yet hilarious, Red Ranger.
I shot this video with my Nintendo 3DS using a Stop Motion feature included on the 3DS camera app.
I edited the whole video using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Despite this video being made back in 2013 It wasn't uploaded to YouTube until April 16th 2017.

Shortshaker Twister
In summer of 2013 I made a parody animation based on the 1996 Disaster movie: Twister. It's worth noting that the video itself is mostly spoofing the building fire scene from the Incredibles but with the Tornado replacing the fire. A Red Ranger and Green Ranger are about to save 4 people inside a building from being blown away into the aggressive Twister.
I've decided to make this video because the building fire scene is one of my favorite scenes from The Incredibles.
When making this video I basically decided to parody the building fire scene from the Incredibles but with Twister elements.
I edited this video using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Despite this video being made back in 2013 it wasn't uploaded to YouTube until May 11th 2019.

The section contains a collection of VFX Projects
and 3D Natural Environments I have done both at
school and on my own personal time. I started learning
more tools and techniques for VFX in the Compositing
& Visual Effects course in the DMIT Program at NAIT.
Prior to entering the DMIT program I started learning Adobe
After Effects & Premiere Pro around the mid to late 2010s.
This collection also includes projects utilizing motion graphics.

SHORTSHAKER NEON Logo
This my new SHORTSHAKER logo I made during one of my animation courses. I first made this logo when we were learning how to make text outlined with either lasers, fire, or other effects in order make a cool looking logo for fun. This logo animation for SHORTSHAKER made it's debut in my Cloverfield parody: RANCORFIELD.

Opening Credits Sequence
This was one of my last projects I did for the Motion Graphics class at NAIT. This was a credits sequence assignment I did where I had to not only make a cool opening credits sequence with fitting music, but also include a studio logo at the start. This opening credits sequence includes an animated studio logo for an animation studio I want to open in the future named "Sparkfire Entertainment". For the credits sequence itself, I decided to give the credits sequence a more montage type feel and tone filled with stock footage from my SHORTSHAKER videos as well as the iconic "Training Montage" song from Rocky IV. Finally, I added fictional names for the cast and crew. I simply named the title of the fictional movie to "SHORTSHAKER: The Movie". All elements in this credits sequence were entirely animated with Adobe After Effects.

Experiment 3 Green Day
Adam just went flying up high in the sky!!! When I was done a day at school, just before the weekend, I decided to go for a little flight. I had such a blast flying that I started singing! I went soaring over cities, mountains, clouds, planes and had so much fun!!!
This project was made as part of my final assignment for Compositing and Visual FX class. I originally started making the video when I was on a plane flying from Edmonton to Vancouver and back. I was filming time-lapse footage while flying over hills and through the clouds. Later on I filmed scenes of myself in a green screen room.

Dragon Ball Infomercial
This infomercial for the Dragon Balls from the Dragon Ball franchise was another assignment I worked on for Motion Graphics class at NAIT. I thought this would make a fun infomercial and also a good spoof on the Dragon Ball series created by Toei Animation and legendary anime designer "Akira Toriyama". This video was uploaded to SHORTSHAKER on March 3rd 2024 two days after the tragic death of Akira Toriyama. I also uploaded this video to serve as a tribute and dedication to Toriyama since he was one of my personal animation heroes. All elements in this infomercial were designed, animated, and edited with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, & Premiere Pro.

3D Environment Fly-through
This is a 3D animated fly-through animation of an island I made using Unreal Engine. This project was made in 3D Natural Environments Class at NAIT. This fly-through features dynamic lighting and stunning architecture.

2D
Animations
This last section contains a collection of 2D animations I have made over the years. These include: pencil tests, animations made with Adobe Animate, Photoshop, & Lip synch animations. Some of these 2D animations I worked on were made at NAIT and my own personal time.

NinjaCat Saves The Day
This was an animated short I made as part of my final 2D animation assignment back at my animation school in Edmonton called NAIT. I animated this short entirely with Adobe Animate. It's about this NinjaCat named Taiko who has to save a lady cat from two evil robot cats named the MechaCats!
Before doing the animation for the NinjaCat short I started storyboarding it first.
On the Left is the Animatic storyboard and on the Right is the final animation.

Squash And Stretch
& Character Weight
This 2D animation showcases the technique of squash and stretch, one of the important principles of animation. The animation shows the three Pokémon: Pikachu, Espeon, & Blastoise. Each of the three Pokémon have their own weight and bouncing abilities.

Walk-Cycle
Animations
These are three different walk cycle animations I worked on for 2D animation class at NAIT. All three walk cycles were animated using Adobe Animate. The one walk cycle animation that stands out the most is the first one where one of the characters in the field is running while the character in front of the camera is simply walking.

Puppet Animations
These are two animation tests I did in Motion Graphics. Both were made and animated in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. The first animation shows a character dancing to the Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up". The second shows a superhero on the top of the hill with cape animation. Both animations were animated using After Effects puppet tools and camera movement.
